Why You Should Get Certified
While getting certified is a great accomplishment, I would recommend it more for the extra training than the benefits of having the certification. To prepare for the exam, you must study how NetSuite operates. This includes reviewing enabled features, user preferences, and many capabilities within the system. All of these are crucial for a NetSuite Consultant to know. When we learn more about NetSuite, we can better serve our companies and clients.
I have been hired to work on projects for new companies a few times, and they have asked me whether or not I am certified. Being able to say, 'Yes, I am,’ gives me a level of authority and immediately increases the company's trust in my abilities. This is something concrete I can point to that shows my expertise in NetSuite.

Applying to take your SuiteFoundations Certification Exam
You can either take the SuiteFoundations Certification at a testing center or online. If you take your exam at a testing center, you will still take it on a computer and learn whether you passed or failed upon completion. Follow the steps below to register for your exam:
1. Reach out to your team leader at your employer to let them know that you want to take the exam. Your company might have registration codes that you can use or a program in place to reimburse you for certain approved educational costs directly related to your job. This varies from company to company, but it's worth checking to see if there are benefits like this available to you through your employer.
2. Follow this link: What is NetSuite Certification? to register for the exam.
3. On this page, you will find study guides and practice tests for all NetSuite Certification exams.
4. Scrolling further down, you will find a button that says, “Register Now.” Click this button.
5. This link will take you to the NetSuite Certificate Exam Cite. From there, you can register for any of the Certification exams. Create an account and register for the exam.
About the SuiteFoundations Exam
You will have 80 minutes to complete the exam. The exam consists of 50 Multiple Choice questions with a few select multiple questions included.
NOTE: Your exam may have more than 50 questions. NetSuite may add additional questions that they are testing for difficulty. These questions will not be counted towards your final score.
Before beginning the exam, you may see a screen that states that there will be sample questions included in the exam that NetSuite is testing. These questions will not count towards your score, but the test does not tell you which questions are not counting and which are.
If you take your exam at a testing center. You must leave everything except your Driver’s License and a Credit/Debit Card. If you have your cell phone, wallet, smartwatch, backpack, or any study material, they will require you to put it in your car. Before you enter the exam, they will make you clean out your pockets.
Types of Questions/What to Study
The exam may likely consist of questions you have never seen before (even in NetSuite's prep courses), topics that you frequently do as you work in NetSuite (but they make you think), and free-bees that almost anyone who is familiar with NetSuite could answer correctly.
