About the TypeError
The following error can occur when calling a Suitelet or service file:
“Cannot read property \"length\" from null (NLRecordScripting.scriptInit$lib#435”)
This error is incredibly vague and unclear as to what the actual cause is. If you encounter this error when calling a Suitelet or service file as you work in NetSuite, here are a few things you can check as you begin the troubleshooting process.
Steps to Troubleshoot the TypeError
- Ensure that your service or Suitelet is running with the correct permissions. It is possible to see this error and not see a permissions error.
- Next, check existing User Event Scripts that may be getting triggered for error logs.
- Finally, for service files, check the SSP Application for error logs that may provide more context.
More likely than not, one of the above steps will bring the cause of the issue to light. If, after troubleshooting using these steps, you are still encountering the error or are unable to resolve it, contact our team for support!
