SuiteCommerce natively allows for a language selector in the website. Users can choose between which language they want to view the site in. This article shows how to set up multiple languages for a SuiteCommerce website properly.
Steps to Set Up Multiple Languages in SuiteCommerce
Step 1: Go to Setup > Company > Enable Features. Under the Company section and check Multiple-languages.
Step 2: Add languages to General Preferences.
Go to Setup > Company > General Preferences.
At the bottom of the page select the Languages subtab and add all languages you want to use on your site.
Step 3: Add languages to the Website Setup Record.
Go to Commerce > Websites > Website List.
Step 4: Select your website.
Step 5: Go the the Shopping tab and select the Languages subtab and add all the languages again.
Step 5: Create domains for all languages.
- Go to Commerce > Hosting > Domains > New.
Step 6: Enter a name in Domain Name. Ensure the new domain name indicates the specific language.
Step 7: Ensure the information and settings match your website.
Step 8: Click Save.
Step 9: Edit Configuration record
Go to Commerce > Websites > Configuration.
Step 10: Select the website and domain, and click Configure.
Step 11: Click Multi-Domain.
Step 12: Click Hosts.
Step 13: Populate the following fields for English language:
- Host ID: English (United States)
- Language: en_US
- Language Title: English
- Language Domain: [Your domain]
Step 14: Populate the following fields for French language:
- Host ID: French (France)
- Language: fr_FR
- Language Title: French
- Language Domain: [Your domain for french]
